A11YCATS Campaign / Iowa State University
The marketing campaign & UI for an accessibility educational video game & promotional website. A11YCATS (2026) is in development through the Digital Accessibility Lab at ISU.
Branding | UX/UI Design
A11ycats was a mobile game for iOS and Android conceived by the Digital Accessibility Lab at Iowa State University. The target audience is people of all ages who want to learn more about inclusion and accessibility.
Careful considerations were put into making sure that the website supported AAA WCAG guidelines and that the research insights on users were fully realized in the final designs. Such as high contrast modes for the site as well as the supporting features, gameplay, and mechanics for the game in its early prototype development.
Designs to support this campaign included the creation of a logo, a custom typeface, branding guidelines, banner ads, A11ycats promotional website design, researching and prototyping for website high-contrast feature, designing the user interface (UI) and Heads-Up-Display (HUD) for game level prototypes. Establishing UX initiatives including pre-production user research, specification discovery, and designing supporting artifacts from insights including sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, presentations, and updating game design documents.
